why even ariana grande cannot save the voice

i have this very unique and special thing about me where i cannot get enough of Singers, people with once in a lifetime voices. and luckily for me, this is also unique and special to millions of other people. musical competitions are popular in film, middle schools, and now the genre of reality television. although it was not the first of its kind, american idol was the first juggernaut after it invited the viewers to participate in the show by voting. nine years later, the american version of the voice debuted. claiming to be searching for that je ne sais quoi of vocal tone, the judges begin the audition with their backs turned so they can give an unbiased reaction/selection.

for drama, the setup is incredible and i indulge audtions for the voice (and xfactor uk) the way others may look to soldiers being reunited with family/pet videos. but the remainder of the show is more gimmicky and often the contestants are lost in the ratings grabs like celebrity guest judges making cameos for the celebrity judges to help coach the artist for one song. the knockout rounds that i live for! but i think if they really were looking for Thee Voice and not A Voice they can mould into whatever they want, the judges would turn around for an artist and then that artist gets a record deal. now that’s drama!!!

but i doubt they will take my advice as the voice just wrapped up its 21st season even though it has only been on the air for ten years. it will probably continue airing new episodes/seasons long after all of us are gone. despite having one of the biggest stars in the world as a judge this year, ratings are still at an all time low.
