the last time i had written about frenemies, i thought things looked bad. things, unfortunately, have gone from worse to worser!! for starters, shane dawson and david dobrik have made their comebacks and essentially changed nothing! seems like they learned nothing so another win for cancel culture!! but until shane goes to prison for child endangerment or david goes for murdering one of his friends, they are not in the hot seat.
trisha paytas uses they/them pronouns so i will bold anytime i am talking about trisha to avoid confusion. because lately, you cannot talk about trisha without talking about ethan klein. trisha tried to spin this as misogyny but they both made Millions from frenemies. MILLIONS in barely eight months! it was so popular and put them both back in the limelight of youtube when we had been lacking a Main Character for a while. even ryan’s toy review is in his flop era, barely racking in two million views every video. in a year where tiktok beat youtube for average watch time, frenemies was appointment viewing!
like most things trisha does, it was ok when it was benefitting her but is a form of a harassment as soon as it stopped doing so. but i am getting ahead of myself…to quote hilary duff, let’s go back…back to the beginning…
trisha paytas is one of the oldest youtube channels! their first video was january 2007!! fifteen years! when i talked about the ace family earlier this week, i briefly touched on how certain youtubers burned out trying to stay relevant amongst the constantly changing trends. trisha describes themself as “the cockroach of the internet” which is quite accurate because i have never seen anybody have more lives than cats especially when it comes to career. “change is scary but i kind of love it.” trisha said today which definitely tracks because trisha has reinvented their persona, content, personality, and friend group usually once every six weeks, at this point. (currently, trisha is caught between being a jewish convert student studying islam meditating to hare krishna while practicing televangelist style american christianity.)
jesus is for everyone….it’s okay to pick and choose [pieces of different religions]. it really is. what works for you may not work for others. maybe a little of everything works for you. maybe nothing works for you. whatever it is. just finding whatever keeps you balanced and centered and on the right path. who says you can’t pick and choose. god doesn’t say you have to choose. loving one entity of the universe isn’t denouncing or hurt another. (trisha paytas, december 17 2021)
trisha has made a career out of staying relevant by constantly adapting which has been good for their career but terrible for their mental well being. if you make your job constantly changing everything about yourself, there is going to be identity crisis. especially when you have (self-diagnosed) borderline personality disorder. allegedly! there is a tiktok channel called contradictions of trish that uses trisha’s own videos as receipts of proof that contradict whatever narrative trisha is currently subscribing to. because it can be hard to keep up! trisha is a very charismatic, charming, entertaining, and funny person so it is easy to get swept up in whatever trisha is saying. they could be describing a menu item at burger king but be so passionate about it, you would be ready to start The Revolution. dr. drew called them out for hiding behind “authenticity” on an episode of frenemies where he said “you can be authentic AND still be manipulative.” which was met with mostly crickets and changing the subject because the woman was too stunned to speak!
up until a few months ago, trisha’s entire presence on the internet was Drama! they were crying on their kitchen floor, they were making expose videos after romantic AND platonic breakups, they were doing massive mukbangs, they were driving a customised rolls royce, etc. everything they do/did feels like performance art. they even left frenemies in a tsunami of rage, tears, tweets, tiktoks, and youtube video after youtube video. they then started two (now defunct) podcasts enemies and my chemical imbalance, as well as making appearances on pretty much every other podcast that currently exists. including, the most vile person on the internet, keemstar’s. prior to her appearance on his podcast, trisha said numerous times that they believed that keemstar was so dangerous they were scared of him and thought he was the one person on the internet who should be deplatformed. anything for a check/drop of clout, though!
you can’t say ‘keep my name out of your mouth’ when your whole career and livelihood is based on social media. once again, i have to remind you that this is the internet. this is social media. people are allowed to give opinions.
-trisha, in a tiktok responding to a 15 year old tiktok star crying and asking trisha to leave her alone after trisha made several tiktoks about her and even brought her up on frenemies
this is where i enter my patrick bateman era because of people’s inability to use critical thinking or common sense. ethan has never been a saint. quite the opposite! even though (unlike trisha) the things he has done in the past that are inexcusable that get brought up are patterns of behaviour he has not exhibited in years. ethan was most definitely out of pocket with his most recent trisha commentary. he definitely commits to the bit a little too hard. i think he is currently being cancelled-lite because of course he is since the internet is just a tapeworm eating itself inside of a vacuum. my favourite source of irrelevant news, defnoodles, talked in a video that we are currently in the age where people are trying to rewrite history despite there being so much evidence online contradicting that.
ethan incited this latest flair up of world war frenemies by stitching a tiktok of trisha dancing in front of menorah saying they paid a rabbi to become jewish because they did not have time to finish the classes. ethan talked about how that only feeds into harmful stereotypes with jewish people and greed. but trisha’s most recent complaint against ethan was that he is the only person not only propagating that trisha is antisemitic but that he is the only one that that has a problem with it. which is wildly untrue on both accounts! but trisha’s fans are using the frenemies episode where they did jewISH (ironically they keeping using the word “jew” as an adjective, the same way ethan told trisha multiple times throughout frenemies was not a good look, to say The Least) trivia as a scapegoat for ethan’s supposed hypocrisy. darling dears, nobody watched the episode where ethan (jewish) and trisha (cannot be racist against jews; she has one jewish husband) dressed up as hasidic jews to do jewish trivia without saying what the actual fuck. like most episodes of frenemies. however, ethan doing that still does not negate the fact that trisha repeatedly has been putting on a crop top and dancing in front of a menorah on tiktok. it IS a trend but the other participants are usually in their pajamas and it is parents and children that are active particpants in judaism.
“people that don’t want to see you change are just people that are too scared to change themselves” -trisha gleefully whispers in her live video today, hours after throwing a tantrum for ethan once again calling out trisha’s antisemitism. one of the most annoying things of 2020 was white people “realising” that there was more to being racist than being a member of the kkk. trisha’s inability to register their own antisemitism feels very similar to that. in an early episode of frenemies, ethan confronts trisha about their fetishisation of jewish people. it is even worse than i remember.
but trisha sees nothing wrong with their behaviour, citing another reason for backlash/negative comments. “there’s so much godliness in my heart right now and it scares people.” trisha said in their live video today. they also cited ethan’s nonstop bullying of them as the reason for the onslaught of hate. trisha also directly implies ethan is causing trisha’s family members to be harassed. ethan may be indirectly doing that when he mentions trisha on the podcast, but i did witness trisha do that and worse with the buzzfeed reporter who made the grave mistake of mentioning trisha’s mini-me, gabbie hanna, in the profile they did on trisha. trisha also bragged on big brother that they had the power to make people delete their accounts.
trisha has three active youtube channels, a very active tiktok, and semi-regularly updates their instagram and onlyfans. trisha has said multiple times throughout the years that they incessantly crave attention and aspire to be the andy kaufman of youtube. their content may have shifted VERY recently but their approach has not. loudly being vegan and then constantly making videos about cheating on their diet?? manifesting super materialistic things? that one tiktok live….? trisha is still trolling/rage baiting just without anyone else’s name involved. ethan pretty much does a podcast every other day now and a lot of it is reacting to memes and whatever videos are trending. but ethan probably just needs to adapt the old policy of just pretending trisha does not exist again because neither the petty king nor the petty nonbinary queen have the ability to use self control especially when ego/feelings are involved. neither party can claim higher moral ground, regardless of the percentage of their heart god is occupying in their heart.
honestly, what i really i think trisha really needs to do is
