since frenemies is sleeping with the fishes, i feel truly robbed of popular media addressing david dobrik’s massive comeback. i love a leo so i was tyra banks; he my tiffany richardson.

sure, he made tastless jokes and had an unprecedented fondness for inflicting pain/embarrassment on his friends. he and fame monster lady gaga seemingly share the same views on feminism. her 2009 new york times comment (I’m not a feminist. I hail men, I love men, I celebrate American male culture -- beer, bars, and muscle cars.) all but describes what one can expect from his videos. humiliating/sexualising every woman he could find was ok because he was giving his friends cool cars!!!

three months ago, an article detailing the night he essentially vlogged a sexual assault is pretty straightforward. but judging by the number of likes on his latest instagram post announcing his return vlog, maybe some of you need a refresher.

his vlogs are infamous for their quick cuts and unscripted scripted bits. the november 2019 night the article is about was a bit where his scumbag friend wanted group sex but nobody was interested in….until david brought his camera. but the girls were more interested in hanging with mason disick’s favourite youtuber. so, he had his friends aLLeGeDLy buy alcohol to loosen everyone up. nobody claims to have brought it yet magically it was there and shared with the girls. this is not even an assumption; dobrik himself mentions the alcohol and time it took to get the girls to be down to have sex with his scumbag friend in a voiceover in the now deleted vlog. the vlog continues with david and friends outside the door where the threesome is happening, joking and peeking in “to make sure it is actually happening”. the next scene is scumbag friend completely drenched thanking david for setting it all up.

what the vlogs leave out and kat’s article fills in is that the girl who says she was sexually assaulted was so drunk her friends had to carry her out of the apartment, after having to carry her to the bathroom to throw up. the image of her being held up in a parking garage surrounded by other girls and david & co is a not really a happy ending to the vlog’s conclusion so instead the vlog ends with david and two friends laughing and joking about how they are going to prison. no, really.

the article’s biggest bombshell is not the sexual assault itself but that about three months after the vlog was posted, the victim reached out to scumbag friend and wrote him a very long message. she detailed her pain and suffering from that night being amplified tremendously by millions of people watching her sexual assault as a form of entertainment. some, even recognising her from the vlog and mentioning it to her. scumbag friend responded to her heartfelt message with “i respect your wishes. the video is down”

now scumbag friend may have access to dobrik’s parties and to people that want to have access to dobrik, but he does not have access to dobrik’s youtube channel. (well, anymore; he is listed in david’s vlogs as producer, cinematographer, and camera/electrical department on imdb)

david dobrik not only orchestrated a sexual assault. he filmed it, broadcasted to millions, and joked about it. and when contacted directly by the victim, stayed mum on the subject but still felt comfortable attending events hosted by scumbag friend.

four months later, he would nearly take the life of his friend while filming his post-quarantine comeback vlog after smashing him into a excavator. his friend has severe brain and eye damage.

now a year later, he is back baby!!!! and every boring/desperate/irrelevant influencer (and serena william’s husband) is happy to have their king back! he even is posting on a date he never in his youtube career has before, taking frenemies tuesday slot.

losing all of his sponsors and having to step down from several of his investments made him give a trisha paytas style apology on the floor. he met with someone that was sexually harassed by scumbag friend (who received massive hate after david endorsed scumbag friend when she made her video about her experience) and she said he listened to her talk about her experience and rape culture and victim shaming. he WAS growing and learning and trying to be better! he was going to take the time to work on himself and to hire people that made it a more safe and comfortable and professional environment to avoid some of the pitfalls his previous vlogs had “missed the mark.”

but one vlog back and he is already back to his old ways again! calling his fat friend jonah because haha jonah hill is short and fat too! hahaha fat guy ate fast food and now he is throwing up! classic content! nature is healing and david dobrik is not growing! :-) we love to see it!

anyway, i hope he loses all his hair.
